Uruguay and Turkey sign Cooperation and Mutual Assistance Agreement

As part of his official trip to Europe, the Uruguayan Foreign Relations Minister, Mr. Francisco Bustillo, and the Turkish Minister of Commerce, Mr. Mehmet Mus, signed a Cooperation and Mutual Assistance Agreement in Customs matters.

Both delegations also evaluated proposals for bilateral trade diversification and investment promotion. Among these projects, they agreed to hold the first meeting of the Joint Economic Commission of the Agreement for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation, which will take place in Montevideo.

Bilateral trade between the two countries exceeds USD 200 million per year, with a surplus for Uruguay of USD 106.8 million in 2020.
